As a registered attendee of the IPAA 2016 National Conference, you agree to the following:
Earlybird registrations will be accepted on or before Tuesday 18 October 2016. After than, the standard registration fee will apply.
Registration cancellation policy
All cancellations and/or amendments must be made in writing to [email protected]. A substitute delegate may attend in your place by prior arrangement where deemed appropriate subject to a $33 processing fee. However, if a member wishes to substitute a non-member in their place the full fee will be payable. Note that if you do not cancel and do not attend, you are responsible for payment.
Cancellations received on or before 19 September 2016 will be refunded in full, less 25% of the fee to cover administration costs. No registration refunds will be made after this date.
Registration can only be made via the online booking site – credit card and bank transfer (EFT) payments are accepted. An invoice can be sent to shared services for payment if indicated on your registration online.
- All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- To assist in the allocation of your bank transfer payment, please email [email protected] immediately after payment, including invoice number to ensure prompt allocation of your payment. Please ensure that your name and complete invoice number are included on the transfer notice.
Privacy and SPAM statement
- Your name, organisation and country/state may be published in the delegate list which is provided to delegates, exhibitors and sponsors at the event.
- Subject to strict conditions of use, your name and contact information may be used by other approved stakeholders such as the host body, event manager, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors in connection with promotion, networking, revenue raising and administration of this conference.
- We may use this information for the promotion of future events of this type.
Your name and organisation will be added to the conference app as part of the registration process. Please advise the conference managers if you do not wish to be included in the app by emailing [email protected].
By providing your email address on the registration form you consent to be contacted by these methods in relation to this and future events of this type. You may opt out at any time by emailing the conference managers: [email protected]
Intention to photograph
Delegates and others are advised that photographs and filming may be taken during the conference and reproduced for promotional purposes.
The conference reserves the right to cancel or vary social functions if minimum numbers are not reached. Because of commitments to catering, we cannot refund social functions and additional ticket cancellations after Monday 17 October 2016.
Please refer to the individual cancellation policy below to ensure you are aware of cancellation penalties that may be applicable at your chosen hotel. Accommodation cannot be booked unless full payment is received. Cancellations in whole or part may incur a penalty at the hotel’s discretion.
Cancellations made by MCI Australia will incur a booking change fee of AUD33. Alterations within 45 days of the booking will incur a charge of AUD33. Hotels will require an imprint of your credit card at check-in for any incidentals.
- Cancellations received within 30 days prior to the arrival date will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
- No-shows will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations and alterations to bookings must be made in writing. These, including early departures and “no-shows”, may incur penalties at the hotel’s discretion, possibly up to 100% of the accommodation stay.
MCI and the Hotel are not responsible for either the partial or total non-execution of the contract in the event of accident, an act caused by a third party, such as Acts of God including, without limitation, credible threats of natural disaster in the geographic vicinity of the hotel, war, curtailment or interruption of transportation facilities, threats or acts of terrorism or similar acts, governmental travel advisory, a governmental elevation of the terrorism alert level, civil disturbance, the issue of a travel warning by the World Health Organization or any other cause comparable events or disaster beyond the parties’ control which prevents the hotel from accommodating the clients of MCI for the event or if for the same reasons the event is cancelled by MCI.
Closure of a hotel:
Should above mentioned offered hotel(s) close between the date the contract was signed and the start of the event, MCI will do its utmost to offer alternative options to the client. If the client confirms such an alternative option, MCI will not be responsible for any difference in rates. Should the client decline the option and book in another hotel outside of MCI’s block, pre-payments made by the client for the closing hotel(s) would be reimbursed by MCI.
Insurance and liability:
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health and accident insurance before they depart for the Conference. IPAA Australia and MCI as organisers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to, private property belonging to the Conference participants and accompanying persons.

IPAA 2016 and MCI as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to, private property belonging to the Conference participants and accompanying persons.
Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) 2016 National Conference, MCI, venue and hotel are not responsible for either the partial or total non-execution of the contract in the event of accident, natural disaster (either threatened or actual) in war, curtailment or interruption of transportation facilities, threats or acts of terrorism, governmental travel or terrorism advisory, strikes, lock out, civil disturbance, the issue of a travel warning by the World Health Organization or any other cause beyond the parties’ control which prevents the hotel and /or venue from accommodating the clients of MCI for the event or if for the same reasons the event is cancelled by MCI.
The Organisers may at their entire discretion repay the delegate fee or service charge paid by the delegate, or part thereof, but shall be under no obligation to repay the whole or part of such delegate fee or service charge, and shall be under no liability to the delegate in respect of any actions, claims, losses (including consequential losses), costs or expenses whatsoever which may be brought against or suffered or incurred by the delegate, as the result of the happening of any such event.
